My cat won't shut his mouth all the way. He's been diagnosed with FIP and jaundice. Does him not closing his mouth mean he's in a lot of pain?

I found out my boy has terminal FIP today and despite that he still acted completely unbothered in the vets office. I don't know if I have a few days or weeks left with him but I'm going to cherish them.
