How do I turn on/off the Canon A2e/Rebel G af assist lights.

I have been shooting Kodak Tri-X, but I'm all out and it's time to order a new bulk roll. The Iilford HP5 is a bit cheaper, but still a brand I know compared to the no namers. Can anyone tell me what difference I might notice in the switch? Bonus question: Chime in with your go-to B+W film.

Switching Systems

Just picked this up yesterday. Canon TL. Pretty much a Canon FT but no self timer and only goes up to 1/500 of a second. Looking forward to working with/ around that limitation. Do you think having a max shutter speed of 1/500th is limiting?

Can't decide between a Mamiya C220 or a Yashica Mat 124g. Thoughts? Price not the issue, more image quality, build quality, etc.
