‘Broken Arrow’ (Delmer Daves, 1950) tells the story of a prospector and former soldier (James Stewart) who tries to make peace between settlers and the Apache. The film sides with the Indians but doesn’t idealize them, as seen in this clip. In other words, it portrays them as human beings.
