I need help identifying the writing on this ancient ring. Can someone help? It is likely Latin or Greek. The central figure holding what might be a club or staff suggests Hercules

One of my favorite medieval rings I restored lately; Simple, yet elegant! From around the 13th-15th Century.
Rarest and most expensive piece in my collection. 1 AD, Roman Gold ring with Athena engraved on it. Was used as a sigil ring back in the day, which still baffles me!
