‘Cobbers’ memorial. Fromelles. Dedicated to the fallen of the 5th Australian Division. The principal scene is modelled on the actions of SGT Simon Fraser after the battle.

Original monument dedicated to the Australian 2nd Division. Unveiled on the Somme, 1925. The statue was later removed and destroyed in 1940 during the German occupation.

My relatives who enlisted for the war. Two brothers serving in the 26th & 52nd Battalions respectively. Australian Imperial Force. Both English born and prior veterans of the Boer War. One was destined never to leave France.
