Preparing for Loss

I am 20 years old and in my last year of college. I’ve had my english lab since I was in 8th grade. In January, he will be 7 years old. However, today I was informed by my family that he was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma. I have a few options, but treatment isn’t really successful and is very expensive. I hope to at least say goodbye to him during my fall break in three weeks, but everyone is unsure if he’ll make it. I’m really heartbroken about this because he’s my boy and has been the goodest boy a girl could ever ask for. I am preparing to lose someone I really love and care about. How can I deal with this?
