How to support my daughter and partner with first baby in tiny apartment?
I am flying in after baby is born for a 2 week stay. This is my first grandchild and I am 70 years old. The changing table and chair where mother will nurse baby is in the second bedroom, where I will sleep. Can anyone advise a system that would work? Should I remove myself to the living room while she nurses, coming back to change baby and put him down? Stay in bed with eyeshades? I don't want her to feel I am being inconvenienced, of course. Should I expect father to be awake to change the diaper?
When I offered to come, I told them I want to cook and clean, support however they wish. And of course they should be very frank with me about what they want. I am just trying to get ideas of what worked for those of you in a similar living situation, as this is new for all of us.
