Found on the beach in Kent, UK. The exposed area in the middle has tiny black crystals and the yellow bits look more rust coloured in person.

A Water rail I spotted yesterday. While Water rail aren't rare in the UK they are secretive and hard to spot. These birds are more likely to be heard than seen and the call is easy to identify as it sounds like a squealing pig.

Small fresh water fish caught by a Little grebe/Dab chick. Seemed dark in colour with a pale belly and blue around the face/ gills. Possibly red throat but could have been injury. Kent,UK.

I was out with my camera yesterday when all of a sudden a flight of Hobbys descended and a feeding frenzy ensued. Hobbys are a small incredibly agile falcon that catch their prey in the air. In this case they were feeding on dragonfly but they are know to catch swallow and swifts too.
