EKG for Zoloft???

I’m completely spiraling out right now 😭. My doctors office just called me out of the blue to tell me that I need to come in for an EKG because I’m on sertraline.

For one, I’m only 31 with no history of any cardiac events or risk factors, besides being a little overweight. For two, I’ve been on my dose of sertraline for two years now and I’ve NEVER heard of this, or that Zoloft can increase the chance of arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death?

I have a crippling fear of doctors and dying so this is really my worst nightmare right now. Has anyone else’s doctor made them do this??
