2.5 years later: Group Stays Together?

Ya'll I've been STRESSED about this temporary contract (I know it's 2.5 years away and they haven't even debuted but I'm neurotic as hell) and I think that translated because I had a genuine dream about this yesterday night. I thought about the dream today and although the dream was high-key insane bear with me because I really want to know if this is possible?

In this dream, disbandment happened except Yuehua bought out Jiwoong and Shanbin's contract. At the 2.5 year mark, the companies of all the companies gathered and discussed future steps. Yuehua managed to convince Matthew's and Gunwook's company to sell their contract during this meeting, but Taerae's refuses. During the final concert, the boys start crying, causing massive protests, eventually forcing WAKE ONE to sell Taerae's contract.

Waking up I thought myself insane. However, doing a little more research, it seems a little more possible. Here are some things I dredged up (with sources because I'm extra insane :) ):

  1. Yuehua would absolutely not allow the contract to be extended.
    1. By the way that the money is currently being split through ZB1 contracts, Yuehua is missing out. As this reddit post says: "While groups like IZ ONE and Wanna One are incredibly profitable and lucrative, the profit distribution scheme doesn't make it all too profitable since you have to divide profits among half a dozen or more companies and several middlemen companies. Even with groups like IZ ONE which have sold nearly 1.5 million albums in 2020 (more than any other girl group), its not quite as profitable as having those idols in their own groups under the companies, especially the Japanese idols attached to AKB." Owning the contracts of 4 of the members, Yuehua would want to take them back to debut their own group, no matter how well the group does/how good the synergy of the group is.
  2. Yuehua is BIG
    1. Yuehua made 186,626,531 USD in 2021. This is compared to Hybe's 105,219,106 USD in 2021.
  3. Yuehua does not have a reliable international cash cow they can depend on in the future in case China straight up cold turkey cuts all boy group promotion activities
    1. Yes, Yuehua is making a lot of money, but that revenue is slowing down (sans the new jump in stocks from the debut of ZB1). I don't have the link to this analysis, but the general consensus among Chinese stockholders is that Yuehua doesn't have a solid group to market in foreign countries. They have Wang Yibo/Han Geng, with Wang Yibo singlehandedly being responsible for 30-40% of their profits, but China has started a pretty harsh crackdown on the kpop/cpop scene and it seems Wang Yibo's profits are slowing down/he has reached his profit potential. In response to this and also in an attempt to establish itself as a household name like the big 3 companies, Yuehua tried to crack into Korea/international fanbases through boy groups like TEMPEST, but with limited success. Indeed, while Wang Yibo's profits are enormous, it still is less in comparison to boy groups. As an example of profit, Wang Yibo has made around 67-80 million USD per year, while Wanna One during their year made 80-90 million USD).
  4. Most of the other non-Yuehua members belong to small/middle-sized companies that don't have any plans to debut a new boy group.
    1. Here are the group members + companies:
      1. Jiwoong - Nest Management
      2. Sung Hanbin - Studio GL1DE
      3. Matthew - MNH Entertainment
      4. Taerae - Wake One
      5. Gunwook - Jellyfish
    2. Most of these companies are small companies (Jiwoong, Hanbin, Matthew), and the others are medium (Taerae, Gunwook). With the exception of Wake One, none of these groups have debut ready trainees/seem to be ready to debut a new boy group.

So given these facts, if ZB1 ends up extremely popular (Wanna One/greater amounts of fame), it would make sense for Yuehua to buy the contracts of the other members - after all, this would be an established group that is already popular among Korea/international fanbases, and Yuehua already owns 4 of the 9 contracts. Although Yuehua could hypothetically debut the 4 members of ZB1 with the other Yuehua trainees, it most likely won't reach the same level of fame internationally due to the popularity of the Korean members in ZB1 currently (compared to the international members in ZB1) and the parasocial relationship fans (like me) would have to the ZB1 members in 2.5 years. I do believe that there would definitely be competition in terms of buying contracts of members such as Hanbin, but given the size of Yuehua, they can pretty much outbid everybody sans SM (who has never shown interest in idols who had already debuted). Thus, in order to achieve their goal of (1) establishing themselves as an entertainment powerhouse in Korea and (2) making money in case of a CCP media crackdown and avoid a UNIQ part 2, it might make the most sense for them to buy out the group's entire contract.

To those that made it to the end I'm sorry I sound literally insane, but this scenario has not left my mind. Love to hear thoughts!
