What laptops do you guys use to write?

I’m looking for a new laptop to buy, more specifically for writing/research (for writing), and I am really wondering what laptop to buy and what other writers like or look for in certain laptops.

Also do you use an external drive to keep your work in case your laptop dies? If so what do you use?
