Is plywood furniture a thing that is acceptable/made to look good?
Beginner woodworker here. In the coming days I'm about to build a king size bed frame as well as a daybed. I've seen some videos and while there are some hardwood builds, they definitely seem like the kinds of things I would want to build over a period of months as a major project.
Many of the videos heavily utilize 2 by material for framing and/or plywood for the rest/whole build. I don't like the exposed edges of plywood so my thoughts were to use poplar for edge banding or just iron-on veneer. Would an entire build made out of plywood work however? Including legs, framing, slats?
I am just trying to figure out if plywood furniture like this can both excel in form and function. Especially if painting the majority of the builds (only staining the headboard and nightstands).
