How to keep Paulk Smartbench insert secure?

I'm designing an adaptation of the Paulk Smartbench (the one that houses a chop saw) and I want to have an insert that basically makes it a vanilla bench. I've got a lip and frame that should keep it level with the rest of the benchtop, but what kind of latches / clamps should I use to secure it in place? I'm hoping that if I can get this right, the insert will essentially become an invisible part of the full workbench. Ideas?
