1995 Clos de la Coulee de Serrant

First time venturing to a 30 year old white wine and I was pleasantly surprised.

Deep copper colour showing its age.

The nose initially showed signs of a mostly oxidised wine. Decanted the wine for an hour which allowed it to open up. Nose had notes of dried apricots, honey, ripe apple and almonds/nuts.

The palate had the same characteristics out of the nose coupled with enough acidity to keep it all together. Finish was still remarkably long. On day 2, the entire thing mellowed out and came beautifully together.

Conclusion: probably over its peak but a nice experience.
