Madam Morrible is probably my favorite movie change

She always felt like a pretty flat character in the musical. Not that it’s a flaw, precisely, but I’m glad that they used the extra screen time to fill out Morrible’s character.

Morrible is, after all, much more than just a side character. She’s there to represent Oz’s establishment. The Wizard is an outsider and a larger than life figure, but Morrible is that everyday self-serving ‘justifies it to herself’ character that always felt like a missed opportunity as a villain.

Morrible is the first person to ever truly believe in Elphaba. To have that relationship expanded and the weight of that betrayal shown on screen was such a fantastic choice.
