I've only seen half of part 1 of the movie (I had a seizure during the last half of the movie and missed it) please don't spoil me just tell me yes, no or kind of.

At the beginning of the movie, Glenda says the governors wife cheated on him.

Do this have any relevance later on in the story or is it just an necessary detail they put in the movie?
