Arianas/Glinda’s facial expressions.. no it’s fine just take my heart and crush it into a million pieces..

As soon as the movie started I instantly began to cry… but this scene- Glindas face and voice when she says “..friend?” KILLED ME. You can see and hear the pain so well even though she’s trying so hard to hide it. Having to downplay the bond they shared to just “friends” and “I did know her” you can tell absolutely destroyed her. I don’t know how to form words to describe how sad her face/voice made me feel.

And do not even get me started on the flashbacks. WHEN FOR GOOD STARTS TO PLAY? Absolute chills. In that moment especially- you can see Ariana almost has “dead” or “blank” eyes as if she’s in her own world thinking about all of her memories with Elphaba.. while having to simultaneously put her happy smile on. She perfectly encapsulated the conflict of what she’s actually feeling vs the facade she puts on.

It’s like she somehow made the top half of her face show her heartbreak.. while the bottom half of her face shows her masking it. I wasn’t sure if she could do it- but Ariana absolutely exceeded anything I could’ve asked for out of a Glinda. Phenomenal acting.

Side note: If you guys understand what I’m trying to say- how would you describe what her face is showing/doing in these scenes? (in a better way than mine)
