Body armor compression pants / top?

I took a pretty bad swim over the weekend and hit some rocks pretty hard (swam through Nantahala Falls). Luckily nothing broken but a few good bruises and some tender spots.

I’ve noticed some people wear BMX type armored compression pants and tops that have hard plastic knee, hip, arm and elbow protection. I saw a few people on the Nantahala this past weekend with it but can’t find it online through Google / Amazon searches. If anyone knows what I’m referring to and can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Also, assuming any of this makes sense I’d be curious to hear from anyone who uses this whether it makes a wet exit harder. As much as it sucked to swim it would have been worse to be stuck in my boat upside down.
