Brides Who Did Not Wear White: How Did You Feel About Guests Wearing “Your” Color?

Hello!

Currently planning my wedding and though we’re still a ways out, one of the things I have been dead set on before I even got engaged was having a non traditional, absolutely NOT WHITE wedding dress. I’m thinking a red Jessica Rabbit number or something stunning in blue or purple. I just personally HATE how I look in white and find more utility out of getting a colored dress. So, my question here is for brides like myself who did not get married in white:

How did you feel about guests potentially wearing the same color as you? I feel like we all know it’s common sense not to wear white to a wedding, but if you show up in blue and the bride is in blue, is it weird? Did you inform people what color you’d be wearing to avoid that? If so, how?

Personally, I’m not even sure I care if people wear the same color as me but my mother brought up that it could make some guests feel bad if they didn’t know and wore the same color as me. Most of the etiquette and rules and stuff around the wedding flies over my head so I’m just along for the ride and focusing on the parts I care about: my future husband, time with my family, and time with my best friends. If it seems like I’m overthinking anything, I’m not but my worrier of a mother certainly is! Thanks in advance!
