Will Our Reception Be Underwhelming?
We’re getting married in April and we both agreed early on that we’d rather skip a lot of the pomp and circumstance of the reception and just get to the dinner and dancing part of the evening. We’re not doing toasts from our bridal party, parent dances, bouquet toss, garter toss, or a big cake announcement.
We will be doing a simple grand entrance (basically dj introducing the bridesmaids as a group, groomsmen as a group, and then us) first dance as a married couple, and we will do a toast thanking everyone for coming. Later in the evening I think we’ll have the dj announce that dessert is available but we aren’t doing to big cake cutting.
But now I’m worried that the reception won’t feel wedding-y enough. Am I overthinking?
