Disappointed

I’ve always wanted to build my own Seiko mod, but considering the import duties on parts in India, I had to drop the idea. Instead, I decided to go with the CWC—a diver-style watch with an NH35 movement and a sapphire dome for just ₹9,000. At this price point, I could have opted for an Alba or a Boderry, but I wanted to support an Indian microbrand.

Now, coming to the issues: the timekeeping isn’t great, running at around ±50 seconds per day. While that’s manageable for me, what’s truly unacceptable is the condition of the movement. The see-through case back reveals a movement full of fingerprints—an eyesore that completely ruins the experience. It’s baffling that manufacturers can’t take the simple precaution of using finger cots during assembly.

For a watch that gets so many things right, such a lack of attention to detail is disappointing.
