Solo ghost files part 1 frustration
Watching the first part of solo ghost files and it has left a bad taste in my mouth. Ryan goes to this manor and is taken through a tour by this guy who owns the place but the biggest glaring problem is this guy isn't just some home owner, he's a ghost hunter. And the vibes are acidic. He's walking through a group home and giving gorey details of these poor abused people's lives and stories. There's more than one occasion where you're looking at the belongings of the people who most recently lived there. I've worked in a group home and the stories they are telling aren't ghost stories, they are real human struggles and even when you have an amazing care team, these things happen. Like maybe not blood smeared on the walls for 15 years, but DID episodes where the patient talks about the devil happen and should not be ghoulishly retold while Ryan zooms in on a pair of this women's glasses and asks if there really was a demon. It's frustrating because I appreciate mystery files because they avoid true crime shit. But now I'm wondering if ghost files has always been like this. Even if they just had a bad host, why platform him, why let him talk at the camera for minutes on end and laugh at how spooky this place is? People died here man, and RECENTLY. Kinda makes me wanna just not watch ghost files anymore. It feels like maybe they are doing sketchier things now because so much of their fan base has left. I'm disappointed in them because I thought that they wouldn't do gross stuff like this just to stay afloat. I just expected better from this company, which I know is silly, it's a company.
