Yes this is 1st world problem I know.
I was GS last year based on 5-6 Biz Class trips I made to Germany (from US) in the latter part of 2022. In 2023 I had more trips to EU & India, spent more and flew more miles than 2022 but did not get invited. I appealed and they sent me an offer.
- Spend at least $18,000 on United or United Express flights
- Within any consecutive 120-day period between January 1st 2024 and June 30th 2024
As of Sunday this was my status (below). This coming Friday I fly Biz class to Manila, through Tokyo. I asked if they would waive the last $272 and apply the GS ahead of this trip and the answer was a flat no - status only changes when revenue has been met.
I've seen them make exceptions when you're close to 1K or Platinum, perhaps GS has different rules. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
