Moving to old west end

Hello! I am likely moving to the old west end this summer and wanted to see opinions from people who actually live here. My family is paranoid about me moving to the OWE because there’s conflicting opinions online. I think it should be fine and from what I’ve heard, it seems like there’s blocks to avoid but for the most part, it is a beautiful and safe neighborhood.

I would especially like to hear from women who live in the old west end because I am a woman in my late 20’s and want to know how safe you feel living there. I visited recently and got a good feeling being there but wanted to hear from locals (I know there’s past threads in here but they’re a year+ old). Thanks in advance!
