Group of women begging

I’m sure some of you have seen these women around the city. They resurfaced in the last few months, but I’ve seen them in 2019 arrive together and then they split to different areas to beg for money.

They’re at Yonge & Eglinton and I’ve seen another at one of the North subway stations. They’re in their 50s-60s and the younger one is 30 something and she speaks perfect English. I usually see the younger one and she pretended to act a little crazy a couple of times by speaking another language (or fake language, who knows) nonstop, but mostly sits making eye contact and smile then asks for money.

What bugs me about this is that regular folks are giving them money when it could go to someone who really needs it.

Does anyone know anything about them?
