Keith lees trying to unalive himself story

Did anyone else hear Keith less story about his dad and trying to unalive himself? I feel like no one talking about the fact that his dad threatened his life with a gun. but then saved his life a little after…. So its okay for your son to die a long as it was because he disrespected you? but it becomes not okay when its because hes depressed and feels he has no purpose? Blows my mind
