Shifting questions

Kingdom of Ash spoilers below!!

Alright yall, I’m rereading KoA and can’t seem to figure out the difference between Lysandra and Dorian’s shifting abilities when it comes to their clothes.

Every time Lysandra shifts, she’s naked when she turns back to her human form. However when Dorian goes to retrieve the third Wyrdkey in Morath, he keeps shifting in and out of a human body that has clothes on (constantly talking about pockets and where he puts the key and stuff).

Is this discrepancy just due to the fact that he’s got raw power and “stole” this shifting ability? I can’t move past this in my brain (maybe because I’d just love some more awkward moments of Dorian naked in Morath lmao)

Anyways, what gives?
