Suppose you're a survivor in TWD, would staying with Dr. Jenner (season 1) a good idea? Why or why not?

I admire the doctor's intelligence and stoicism, although it can be very against the survivor's rights or even intentions to see an unknown future ahead. Rick may have been abit idealistic about surviving and changing the world but he is true about getting a chance. Basically the point of the virologist is that there's just no point in going on because according to him, in any minute you're grateful for your life, but a day will come when you won't be. And it was an offer to avoid a brutal painful death ahead.
