was i wrong?

I rejected a sale of a scratch card the other day, because the woman buying it asked her son to choose the number. I rejected it because I said a child cannot be involved with any part of the lottery process, and she responded by telling me she’s a store manager at a co-op and i’m completely wrong. I refused anyway, but i’m fairly sure i’m right here?

To my knowledge, a child can’t be involved with any part of the lottery, whether it’s choosing a scratch card or redeeming winnings. Is this correct?
