Filling SSDs with random data

I was installing linux and I rewrote everything with random data. I've done this and I think my SSD got damaged. But what is the alternative? I wanted to encrypt the disk with LUKS and I wanted to "delete" all of the all data before randomizing it, but I think it was a mistake
