Bought In-Ear Earphones but Mic Works Only on Laptop

Hello,

I’ve bought the 1MORE Piston Fit in-Ear Earphones. I am very sastisfied with the purchase, sound quality as well as mic quality is very good (especially considering the price).

However, I am having an issue with the mic not working on my PC. The earphones connect through a single jack plug that supports both the input and output of sound. The mic works on my laptop, there I simply connect the earphones and an app called Realtek Audio Console automatically opens in Windows and sets up the device correctly such that both the headphones and the mic work.

But on my PC, when I plug the earphones in, the mic is not recognized as a device among input devices. I also have the Realtek Audio Console installed on my PC, but it doesn’t open automatically and when I try to open it there, I get a "Cannot connect to RPC service" error.

I’m thinking this may be due to a hardware difference between the laptop’s and the PC’s jack sockets, i.e. the laptop supports both input and output of sound through a single "hole" while the PC doesn’t. How can I confirm if this is the case? Is this only determined by the PC’s case or something else as well? The PC’s case is Evolveo Ray 5RB.
