Nooks is collapsing - Are review sites like RepVue and Glassdoor trustworthy?
Nooks (the dialer) raised a shit ton of money and they have been all over my Linkedin feed similar to Gong. We tried them in the past (decent experience but numbers kept showing up as spam), but this is besides the point.
It seems that they raised too much money without proper PMF, and are now scrambling to add more features and pivoting all over the place.
I went down this rabbit hole after I saw a comment on reddit mentioning how to never work for them. Reason I got curious was because I have been approached by them in the past for a BDR manager role, and at one point I was seriously considering it, given their RepVue score etc was so good and the fact that they keep talking about how good everything is.
After the comment on Reddit, I started asking around, and then saw this tweet by Benyamin - For those who don't want to go there here is the direct tweet
Just got a phone call from a sales director telling me Nooks BDRs are all trying to get out, that they fucked up all the account planning and there's not enough to go around, they're firing people for questioning management, management is marking inbounds as "BDR sourced" etc etc... same old VC song and dance.
They're probably hemmoraging money which is why they have such a shitty culture. Also the insane hype culture marketing they do on LinkedIn is a dead giveaway that it's a terrible place to work.
Good workplaces never have to TELL you that they're good to work at, they have enough people trying to get in already via referrals without having to TELL anyone anything. That's how it was at PandaDoc when I worked there. Just culture marketing. All lies. No one hitting quota. All bullshit...
I then began asking around friends and got in touch with a few reps who are working there and they all told me the same thing, the whole org is a complete mess.
At this point, it seems that trusting review sites like RepVue or Glassdoor is not even worth it?
If anyone else is working at Nooks, please spill the beans here so we can all hear what's going on.
