Savages, did Lively force authorship on Oliver Stone?

I have a theory about the Savages movie with Oliver Stone. I think that there was some weird tensions in that movie.

According to Huffington Post “But out of the "Savages" cast that includes Salma Hayek, Uma Thurman, John Travolta and Benicio Del Toro, Stone said Lively contributed the most. "Of the five major actors in the movie, she is one of two who contributed the most to the screenplay. She's not overbearing but she certainly gives back. I enjoy her," Stone said.” Stone plays it off like he enjoyed her contributions, however, in a Charlie Rose interview Travolta kept bringing up how you have to kinda ask Stone before you change something in a scene for permission. How important it was as the actor to hit it (the performance) a home run is the responsibility of the actor but you have to ask permission, but expect some push back from Stone about it. Then there was a lot of about trusting the director to edit it right from the other male actor. Stone said something about Blake coming into the editing room and Selma…they are two queens.

Later Lively comments on Stone “he is so open to people and hearing their ideas and thoughts, and then you come with all of these ideas that you have been working on. And he goes "Why?" And you think he just -- you think that he just wants to argue with you about it and, you know, he has this reputation of being a very tough man. And you think that, you know, he is just trying to beat you down in that moment but you realize he is trying to see if there are holes in your story.”

So my thoughts on this is she came to him with ideas without asking (more like I think this is what the character is going to do sounding attitude) instead of asking. She saw it as him beating her down when he wasn’t happy with everything she came up with?? Anyway he let her into the editing room too. Hopefully she didn’t get into the editing room by saying she would tell everyone what an a-hole he was if he didn’t let her in.

I think while promoting the film in a Letterman interview she said she bought the Savages crew a gift when the film wrapped "because they needed something nice after working with [Stone] for that long" basically saying he was horrible.

So I’m probably reading way too much into this but something seemed off. However by Oliver Stones own words, she changed screenplay and got into the editing room. The unclear question is was it invited or was it forced?
