Question about grey

I'm at chapter 416 and just now i remembered when agrona took over silvie's body the first time abd wanted him to not help in the war he ended the conversation with "king grey, my old friend" and i know he has all this reincarnation thing with the legacy and all that but what did he mean by "old friend" ?
