1099-R taxable portion says unknown

I am trying to help my mom file her taxes. She doesn’t have much, really only some social security benefits and a pension she inherited from my dad. When I looked at the 1099-R though, the taxable amount says “unknown”…what am I supposed to do? Any advice is welcome. Do I have to call the IRS?
