What to do after removing the protective film 🤔

I got this tattoo done last Saturday & tattoo artist told me to remove the protective film after one week so today I have to remove it but I forgot to ask him what to do after that, should I wash it first (only with water or with a soap) or apply petroleum jelly on it or leave it as it is, & my skin is extremely dry so there is redness around the tattoo under the film now 🫠 btw this is my 4th tattoo, is it pretty 😅 & m new here so Hi everyone 👋🏻
