100 Greatest American Classic Books
I was looking for a list of the 100 greatest American Classic books and then I was going to read them all whether I had already read them, like back in high school. Finding this list has been more difficult than I thought. Many lists contain non-American authors even though I specifically queried "America" and most of the American lists have new books that were huge sellers but not great books, like the Twilight series. Others appear to be a list of the greatest American classics that don't include the greatest books, like "To Kill A Mockingbird" or Herman Melville, or Twain, etc. So I thought we could put together the definitive list. I'll start with my list, and I'm looking for your thoughts. The most recommended books and the ones most people think should be removed will be. I'm hoping we can build the most definitive list here and see who wants to join me in reading all 100.
Remember must be a Classic and must be American"
