I haven’t read fiction in years. Help me rekindle my love for it
I really enjoyed reading fiction when I was younger. And then I grew up and thought fiction was unproductive and the world “required” me to focus on personal development (I know). But oh lord do I miss getting lost in the worlds of the characters I am reading. I’m too burned out to read self-help books right now. I want to make my imagination work again.
Some books I liked:
- The Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare
- Tiger Lily by Jodi Anderson
- The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
- Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi
- Delirium series by Lauren Oliver
- The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
- Mara Dyer series by Michelle Hodkin
- Haruki Murakami books
- The Book Thief
- The Bell Jar
Would prefer dystopian, but the characters are already mature and not young adults. I also like magical realism and those with themes of death.
Thank you!
