CVT on its way out?

Took my 2014 Outback in to have a Check Engine light read. It came back as a major issue with the transmission. Shop advised me not to replace, of course, because the cost far exceeds the car’s value. But, I’ve had ZERO transmission problems. So I just went to another shop, and they had the same code. I’m not going to do anything until the transmission develops issues. Has this happened to anyone else? I’m hoping I have lots of time…?🤷‍♀️
