I stopped scalpers from robbing my local McDonald’s

I was watching YouTube shorts when it came to tales from McDonald’s. I got one. The anniversary set of Pokemon cards for McDonald’s happy meal just came out and as a collector I went to the McDonald’s and asked how much just to buy the packs.

I was told,” Oh just take however many you want.” I asked to speak to the manager who told me the same thing. I started to visibly panic as that’s the worst thing I heard in awhile. I told the manager I’d like 5 packs and that she needs to make a max limit, or she will run out. She told me with confidence,” we have like 12 boxes of them in the back, that’s not happening, but I’ll keep that in mind.” She thought I was insane.

Next day I went back, same time, same manager, and asked her how it went. She looked at me with both a confused and tired look as she was dealing with grown people all day giving her so much lip over the limit (5 packs per customer per day) she had in place for the $2 packs. I was a laughing quite a bit. Apparently an hour after I left a guy walked in and demanded her entire stock of them. She remembered what I said, well no. First apparently she thought he was joking. When he made it clear he was very serious, she remembered how many packs I got and made that the limit.

I know it was just $10, but she gave my next 5 packs for free. I pulled a holo Fennekin and was satisfied.
