Would a manual take away my car guy status

Does driving automatic make me less of a "car guy"

I recently purchased a 1990 Mazda Miata aka one of my realistically achievable dream cars. It's a manual and I enjoy driving it between here and town, I'm aware the milage is better usually, and I'm aware potential future repairs are much easier and cheaper. However driving in town is an absolute pain where so many intersections are on hills and where I live we commonly get pretty strong morning ice on the roads for 5-7 months of the year meaning until I get more comfortable, the little kitted hot rod (yes the miata has some work done) is basically useless because I'm not nearly good enough on manual yet. I was considering finding an automatic beater for the poor weather days or even goin all in on a similarly visually appealing automatic car. I think being able to drive manual to any extent is a super valuable skill but is it necessary to use everyday? Input?
