How do I make the freaking jump to Pyro?

I'm in my Andromeda, full tank of quantum fuel, in quantum mode, at the runway, and nothing. I even watched 3 people use the gate in front of my as I was trying to use it.

I've looked up videos on how to do it and I've done everything they said. So unless they forgot a key detail I have no clue what to do.

What is the secret or am I just bugging out like always with this game?

And I even tried hailing the gate and maybe that would have worked, there was no one to hail
