Old Splatoon 2 data on a new switch

Hey, soI bought splatoon 2 on the eshop a few years back but my old switch broke in like 2020 and I'm finally buying a new one. I saw on the nintendo website that after a few months without being subscribed to the online service all the data on the cloud would be lost but even after this many years my old splatoon 2 data like rank and items are still present on the switch online phone app.

Does this means that my splatoon data is still stored? When I re-download the game on the new switch will I still have my old things or will it update after I start playing again?

Sorry if it's dumb but I could find an answer anywhere.
