QTE Autocomplete turning on when i turn it off.

I got to the mission where miles and peter first fight the hunters when i realised one of the scenes looked a bit too much like gameplay instead of a cutscene so i check the settings and found QTE Autocomplete was turned on without my knowledge, i turned it off and kept playing. I’m now at the part where MJ is at the zoo trying to get Dr Conners and theres a part where MJ gets put in a chokehold and you’re very obviously supposed to spam a button to break free so i checked again and it was turned back on. anyone know why this might be?
