How to Slakcware point releases work?

Hi all,

I've decided to try out Slackware and I'm enjoying it pretty well!

One thing is confusing me though, and that is point releases.

I'm on 15 now, but when 15.1 comes out, is it recommended that I upgrade to it? Or can I just stay on 15 and remain there until 16 comes out?

I come from Ubuntu/Debian where upgrading to the point releases is automatic... but looking at the changelog text files for older Slackware releases like 14.0 14.1 and 14.2 it seems all these releases had the same EOL.

So are point releases on Slackware treated different from point releases on other distros? Am I thinking right that the major releases are like LTS versions of Ubuntu and the point releases are like non LTS versions?

Sorry if this is the wrong way to think about it, I haven't explored Linux all that much outside of Debian/Ubuntu and now Slackware!

P.S Sorry about the title misspelling :/ My brain likes to swap words around like that sometimes. And I can't edit it now I've seen it ugh :c
