Beginning vocal training in 20s - seeking advice
Hi! I'm contemplating getting vocal lessons but it's a big investment so Im unsure whether it's worth going for.. I want to do it for a confidence boost and to perform one day (like an open mic) just cause I've always wanted to perform.
I've never had any vocal training, never a performer or done anything musical before but it's something I'd really like to get into. I think I can only afford around an hour or two half an hours per week right now. So I don't know if that's enough to see real progress. (I understand practising at home is important but I also have to get over the embarrassment of doing that living with older siblings who will absolutely bully me for it lol)
So yeah, I'm 23 this year and just want to hear other people's success stories about starting vocal training late. How often/consistently did you do it or practice. If you think it was worth lessons?
It seems like so many artists started when they were really young. So it's a bit discouraging in that aspect. I don't strive to be a singer professionally but if I was a bit delusional (I am) i'd say I'd like to have some of my own songs to perform as a long term goal.
Thanks for any advice given! X
