Budgeting, expense tracking and credit cards
For people who is trying to track their expenses (I'm using Money Manager) and budget their monthly income, how do you account for the time lag between the credit card spend date (say 25th Jan) and the bill payment due date (e.g. 20th Feb)?
In my case, my pay day is mid month, and it always feels weird to have an emptier bank/ cash balance just days after getting my pay, due to what I did last month, as opposed to have this pot of money to spend of expenses ahead. To "add on" to this issue, I also use the OCBC goal function to park money from my general account to the various goals, hence making the available balance even lower.
I like using the credit cards for the convenience and miles etc, but this "lag" is sometimes causing anxiety. It feels like I'm forever living pay check to pay check, and on borrowed money.
Not sure if this is a feeling some of you share.
Happy to hear how you manage this, thanks!
