I got rid of my shadow systems pistols…
I have officially replaced all of my Shadow systems pistols for a Glock 19 and a Smith & Wesson shield plus. I see so many issues with shadow systems it is unreal. My MR920P had issues right out of the box. Yes after 30 rounds it seemed like the break in period was over until I got to the 2000 round mark. Light primer strikes were happening again within a span of 4 magazines once I got to the 2k rounds. I wanted to like shadow systems, I really did… I even sent back my second CR920 elite to get it fixed when the trigger turned out to be defective within the first hundred rounds. Yes customer service was great but I’d rather have guns that’ll work and last a long time than to have to deal with customer service and talk about how nice they were. The shadow systems pistols I’ve had cannot hold up a lit candle to the durability and the reliability of any Glock pistols I’ve had over the years. Yes my Glock 19 has a radian ramjet afterburner and yes I put some money into my g19 to change the trigger, sights, and barrel of my choosing. The over cost of my Glock 19 is $1119. Yes it is slightly more expensive than an MR920p now, but my Glock 19 didn’t have 15 to 18 malfunctions during the first 30 rounds nor does it seem like it’s starting to develop any light primer strike issues, it has been a 100% reliable.
As far as my shield goes this gun is snappy and I am having to put more rounds through it to see a level of proficiency that I am satisfied with. But it has been nothing but reliable out of the box and it is not developing light primer strike issues like my CR920s. I cannot carry a gun that are meant to be used to defend my family or my own life when they start to develop these kinds of issues at such a low round count. The Shield also a a better trigger than any CR920s for half of the cost.
I honestly thought the people that were ragging on shadow systems pistols were either Glock maximalists or they were just paid actors who had to show brand loyalty to the brands that paid them but I stand corrected… the shadow systems pistols I’ve had were either not reliable or reliable until they weren’t. Don’t be in the mindset of “well it hasn’t happened to me so I’m good🤷🏻♂️”. If you shoot your guns then you should be worried about these issues especially if you carry these guns for self defense.
