How would you fix this beloved shirt?

I am not particularly skilled and do not have a sewing machine but I am willing to hand sew as much as is needed for this sake. I don’t mind that the print is wearing, it’s just the holes that are making me nervous.

Is there some way I can keep the fabric more stable, perhaps some kind of lining? If there’s also an extra step I can take to keep the inside soft (like covering up said lining with tshirt material on the inside) please let me know
