How do people find somebody actually right for them?

I was just thinking this one today. I guess I just assume there's a very small group of people I feel would actually be right for me. I can find some connection with almost anyone but that deep sort of understanding I only ever even seem to see extremely rarely and I guess I just wonder if I'll never actually find someone who gets me like than and who I get back.
